What will Toronto look like post-COVID? Hot Docs' popular Our Beautiful City series returns virtually with this timely and thought-provoking conversation on what's next.
Featuring three of the city's most beloved former mayors in conversation, as well as video cameos from inspiring local voices, this will be an opportunity to think big about the challenges and opportunities that face Toronto as it enters a new decade— and how the current crisis is forcing us to reassess and reprioritize them. What are the local and global issues that will define our prospects? How can we ensure that the city's continued growth is equitable and inclusive? And what can history—and the successful mayoralties of David Crombie, Barbara Hall and David Miller—teach us about how we can come together in the spirit of recovery? Bring your community spirit as we discuss what it will take to put the current crisis behind us and realize Toronto’s civic potential.
Featuring appearances by Imam Dr. Shabir Ally(Faith Leader); Jeffrey Beecher (Toronto Symphony Orchestra; Yo Yo-Ma's Silkroad Ensemble); Cathy Crowe (Street Nurse); Zahra Ebrahim (Urban Design Advisor, Co-Founder, Monumental); Dr. David Goldbloom (Senior Medical Advisor, CAMH); Henry S.
