For many in the West, Navalny became a household name through Toronto filmmaker Daniel Roher's Oscar-winning 2022 documentary. Through remarkable access and intimacy, Roher introduces us to the charismatic dissident, whose unwavering courage in the face of grave threats captivated audiences worldwide.

This screening comes at an urgent time, just two days after another Russian presidential election. Many Russians mourn the diminishing hope for a democratic Russia with Navalny's passing.

However, Daniel Roher's film leaves us with Navalny's enduring plea, conveyed at the film’s conclusion: "My message for the situation when I am killed is very simple: Not give up."
