Laura and Malik are tired of being in an insecure and indefinable love affair, having been in an on-again, off-again relationship for four years. They take part in a cinematic experiment to determine whether they should stay together or go their separate ways. With the help of a camera crew, they reconstruct episodes from the four years they have been together, and eventually show them to each other in the darkness of a cinema. The couple hopes that by then watching back this meta-version of their relationship they can confront their demons, rediscover each other, and come to a resolution on their future together. In the end, they must make a final decision to stay together or split up.
