Essential Docs: Contemporary Color VOD // Hot Docs at Home

Channeling the lightning in a bottle quality of Stop Making Sense, music icon and former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne returned to the big screen for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience blending cinema, original music and entrancing choreography. Inspired by the vibrant and underappreciated artform known as colour guard, in which high school students dance, twirl flags and toss rifles in perfect synch, Byrne joined forces with Nelly Furtado, St. Vincent and more top music stars to perform live with 10 small-town colour guard teams at a one-of-a-kind stadium show. Critical darlings Bill Ross and Turner Ross chronicle this unique collaboration from inception to performance, creating a “transcendental experience” (Rolling Stone) that blows the regular concert doc way out of the water.
