Exhibit open: 28.09.2018-17.10.2018, 24 hrs Located in the Tartu College parking lot, 9 Madison Ave. Contact: Piret Noorhani, 416 925 9405 A travelling exhibit by the Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom is arriving in Toronto. The enormous over 500 square metre exhibit will be displayed in four large cities in North American to celebrate Estonia 100 with communities of Estonians abroad and local residents. The exhibit pavilion will be on display from September 28-October 17, 2018, including during the cultural festivals Ontario Culture Days and Nuit Blanche. The exhibit pavilion with light installations is 12 metres wide and 4 metres high, it weighs 4 tonnes and is compiled of 244 panels, each one telling a small part of Estonia's colourful and exciting history as well as featuring highlights of present-day Estonia. The exhibit was created by Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom in collaboration with Estonians living at home and abroad. Students, businesses, a number of Estonians photographers including Annika Haasi, Birgit Püve, and Triin Kerge as well as many Estonians museums contributed to the completion of the exhibit. Together, we recorded a story of Estonia that we wish to share with the world to celebrate Estonia's birthday. Through five topics - history, culture, what it means to be Estonian, famous citizens of the world, and innovation - we feature solutions and contemporary movements associated with Estonia that are recognized by Estonians abroad and are an inspiration to people all over the world. Simultaneously, the exhibit introduces Estonian design and service industries, encourages people to travel to Estonia and search for collaborative opportunities with local businesses. All those who are interested can read more about the exhibit on the website ee100.ee and on the Facebook page Masters of Our Own Homes: Estonia at 100. The exhibit was created by Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom with the support of Estonia 100 and in collaboration with the Stanford University Library, the Washington Estonian Embassy, VEMU, the Boston Estonian Honorary Consulate, and Estonian societies in North America. Motor Agency compiled the exhibit's visual and technical solutions.
