This Jewish American Life: Yoo Hoo, Mrs Goldberg

This Jewish American Life: From touching family traditions to Hollywood legends, we shine a light on the cultural luminaries and stories of hope and resilience that have shaped the Jewish-American experience—one that reflects the history of an immigrant nation.

One of America's most underrated creative forces, Gertrude Berg was a television pioneer who paved the way for women in the entertainment industry. She received the first Best Actress Emmy in history for her ground-breaking radio show turned sitcom, The Goldbergs, which she created, wrote and starred in. She played her beloved character Mrs. Goldberg for over 17 years. Featuring interviews with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Ed Asner, Norman Lear and more, Aviva Kemper's documentary is a warm-hearted tribute to a trailblazing figure who singlehandedly revolutionized TV.
