WOMEN’S LOOKS

Alliance française de Toronto is pleased to present a selection of works by Anne Maizia in the Pierre Léon Gallery. Opening reception on Wednesday, April 6, at 6:30 pm, free entrance. Exhibition until Saturday, April 30.

Anne Maizia is a Toronto-based artist painter who does figurative as well as abstract work. Originally from Brussels, she moved to America in 1985. New York City offered her the finest quality of art education she wanted and living in this artsy cultural city gave her the inspiration to do art. She attended various art classes, primarily at the Art Students League of NYC, but also at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design. She explored different mediums such as life drawing, fashion drawing, sculpture, jewelry design, and photography.

After moving to Houston in 2009, she pursued her painting full-time. In 2011, she had her first solo show with thirty pieces. Since then, she has done various group exhibitions. She also illustrated children’s books and a cd cover.
