Indigenous Voices: Mother’s Day Gift Making & Pow Wow Dance Lesson

Designed for K-12 students and teachers, Indigenous Voices episodes feature Indigenous ROM educators and guest speakers as they highlight distinct ancestral objects, share stories, and offer arts-based activities that celebrate living Indigenous cultures.

A large part of Indigenous cultures is respect for women, and especially mothers! In this episode, join us and make simple Mother's Day cards, followed by a pow wow dance lesson with Deanne Hupfield, Anishnaabe from Temagami First Nation.

Basic materials required for the art activity: pencil and eraser, ruler, coloured pencils or crayons, several sheets of blank paper.
