Finally released for the world to see, this long-shelved film from Oscar-winning director Sydney Pollack captures the emotional power and transcendent voice of Aretha Franklin as she records her bestselling live gospel album at Los Angeles’ New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in 1972. Experience Franklin’s history-making two-night performance—which includes a spellbinding rendition of “Amazing Grace”—on the big screen, followed by a live musical tribute by Canada’s premiere gospel choir.
