Cathedrals of Culture Part 1 // Music on Film

Music on Film: Inspiring music docs from around the world come together with special musical performances and discussions selected by the Royal Conservatory of Music.

The Berlin Philharmonic is an icon of modernity, the National Library of Russia a kingdom of thoughts, and Norway’s Halden Prison the world’s most humane penitentiary. These are three of the six vastly different structures explored in Cathedrals of Culture, a beautifully composed film that seeks to uncover the souls of buildings. Acclaimed directors Wim Wenders, Michael Glawogger, and Michael Madsen bring their signature visual styles to the project as they examine how each of these landmarks reflect our culture. This stunning documentary kicks off the latest season of our Music on Film series and will show three of the six featurettes.

Stick around for a special post-screening Q&A hosted by Mervon Mehta, Executive Director of Performing Arts at The Royal Conservatory of Music.
