The Vagina Monologues

This series of thematic interviews of women has been shown across the United States in theatres and colleges, and in countries as widespread as England, Rumania and Zaire. Proceeds will go to North York Women’s shelter for women and children.

The film starts in the halls of a grand hotel in Paris, where Fausto and Nadine meet for the first time. Fausto is from Italy, but works in France as a waiter, though he lives with the dream to succeed and become the maître. Nadine is a beautiful young French girl, who is there to appear in modelling auditions, even against her will.

Hot Docs FREE Event: DocX at Hot Docs House

DocX is an interdisciplinary section of the Festival celebrating documentary work that lives outside of the traditional format. This year, there will be a number of interactive installations, and virtual reality and 360° video experiences available at Hot Docs House (610 Markham Street).

All experiences are free and open to the public, running April 29 to May 7, 11:00 am to 6:00 p.m. No need to sign-up or book in advance. Just drop in and give it a try.
