CHEF ANDREA BERTON in conversation with Cynthia David

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura is proud to present an evening with celebrity Chef Andrea Berton. Renowned journalist Cynthia David will conduct a conversation exploring Chef Berton’s experiences and philosophy regarding refined Italian cuisine.

Andrea Berton started his career at Gualtiero Marchesi’s restaurant in Via Bonvesin della Riva, in Milan, his training then continuing in some of the best restaurants worldwide. Between 1997 and 2001, he was chef at La Taverna, in Colloredo di Monte Albano, near Udine in northeastern Italy, which, during his tenure was awarded its first Michelin star. Following this major triumph, he returned to Marchesi as Group Executive Chef. In 2005, Berton moved to the Ristorante Trussardi Alla Scala, in Milan, which gained a Michelin star in 2008, with a second added just one year later. On the local front, in 2010, the restaurant was awarded Three Forks in the Gambero Rosso classification, while, in the Espresso magazine ranking in 2011, it earned Three Toques.
