Storytelling - Étienne Brûlé Returns

The storyteller Mike Ford will present the wonderful story of Étienne Brûlé in a fantastical journey from 17th century Wendake in Huronia to 21st century Toronto.This show for kids will take place in the Spadina Theatre after a dress-up goûter at 4pm in the Pierre Léon Gallery.

Mike’s original, exciting and interactive song-cycle explores the life and times of Ontario’s first non-aboriginal visitor, Étienne Brûlé. Through Brûlé’s eyes, 17th Century Ontario, First Nations lore, early New France and contemporary issues of environment and inclusion are brought to life in a variety of musical styles.Linguistic and personal journey of discovery and rediscovery, Étienne Brûlé Returns is a major work while affirming the French origin of Ontario.
