A Celebration of Canadian Documentary: presented by Hot Docs and POV Magazine

Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema

Join Hot Docs and POV Magazine to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation by saluting our national art form: documentary! In the upcoming special issue 'Stories We Tell: Canada's Documentaries,' POV Magazine unveils a list of 10 must-see short and feature-length docs to note some of the many titles that have shaped the history of the form in our country. This special National Canadian Film Day event invites doc fans to join some of the country's leading filmmakers and journalists to discuss some of the best Canadian documentaries of all time and different approaches to what make the medium great. Join the debate: what is Canada's hottest doc?

Join the conversation with a panel of documentary experts:

Oscar-nominated director (Giants of Africa) and film programmer Hubert Davis
Director (Waterlife) and writer Kevin McMahon
POV Magazine editor Marc Glassman
NFB producer Anita Lee (Stories We Tell, The Apology)

Please note there is no film screening at this event.

Tickets: Free, available to members online and at the box office. Tickets available to the public at the box office only from April 8.
