21st Annual Annex Family Festival

Now in its 21st year, the Annex Family Festival (AFF) is a fun, one-day street festival that attracts over 20,000 people, making it one of Toronto's premier summer events. The event offers local businesses, Torontonians and sponsors an opportunity to celebrate our unique local heritage through a variety of activities suited for families of all shapes and sizes.

CBC's Podcast Playlist Live!

Podcast all-stars hit the stage for Matt Galloway and Lindsay Michael's exciting live edition of Podcast Playlist! Watch Sleepover host Sook-Yin Lee help a special guest solve a problem, debunk Our Fake History with host Sebastian Major, hear live storytelling from The Spoke and watch the heroes from the sci-fi improv podcast Illusionoid save the world. And, of course, be ready for some surprises and special guests.

Children’s Musical Theatre Project Presents: Into the Woods

In the Al Green Theatre in the Miles Nadal JCC
Our not-for-profit, community initiative that gives kids an opportunity to build confidence and develop interpersonal skills through the creative process of mounting a full-scale junior musical. A fun, respectful and inclusive environment where kids can be themselves.
Tickets: $15 on eventbrite.
All ticket sales are final. No refunds, no exchanges. Box Office opens on site beginning one (1) hour prior to the performance. Door sales are cash only.

Experimental Time: Listening, Simultaneity, Dis-Unison

Join Cornell musicologist Benjamin Piekut, specialist in post-1960s experimentalism, and New York sound-installation artist and turntablist Marina Rosenfeld, in an event exploring the relations of listening and behaviour in the social and creative realms. Coffee-break lectures by Piekut and Rosenfeld will be followed by a reception, a collective listening session to Rosenfeld’s new 45-minute radio work “Production a+f,” and a scholar-artist Q&A.

SICA Singers

The Summer Institute for Creative Adults (SICA) is a hands-on summer vocal camp week. 

Refresh your voice, gain confidence and valuable skills. Work with Toronto’s top music faculty. New this year: World Music and Jazz Choir.

Opera for All

Visiting Artist, Maestro Alvaro Lozano Gutierrez, returns for this hit program. Whether you are an amateur singer or experienced chorister, this is for you. Learn popular Opera Choruses in Italian and French. Choose between Monday daytime or Wednesday evening rehearsals. All levels welcome. Learning materials provided.

VEMU's 6th Fundraising Dinner

On Sunday, April 30th at 6pm at Tartu College, VEMU will be hosting its 6th Fundraising Dinner. In Estonia, 2017 is the Year of Children and Youth Culture and for this occasion we will have special guest, Leelo Tungal, from Estonia as a keynote speaker. Leelo Tungal is an author, translator and librettist who is valued and loved for her works dedicated to children. Her speech will be in Estonian with an English translation available. 

Harmony Yoga - Free Session

Join us for Harmony Yoga – hatha yoga with classical music at the Royal Conservatory of Music! Yoga instructor and pianist, Mark-Anthony Del Brocco, will guide you through a session set to live or recorded classical music that focuses on breath awareness and gentle asanas (poses).
