Toronto Jewish Film Society presents Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy

During the Golden Age of Broadway, Jewish composers and lyricists like Lerner & Loewe, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Irving Berlin dominated the field. How did a small group of Jewish creative minds have such an impact on the American Songbook? Narrator Joel Grey takes us on a delightful musical journey in this entertaining documentary.

Hot Docs Presents: A Celebration of Pan American Culture Through Film

Hot Docs is thrilled to showcase a series of inspiring documentaries that bring the diverse stories, vibrant cultures and remarkable contributions of Pan American peoples to the screen. Featured film subjects include Bob Marley, Brazilian racing superstar Ayrton Senna and the Buena Vista Social Club. The 10 films represent works from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica, Peru and the U.S.

Join mental health advocate Linda Chamberlain and hear her incredible life story. Linda has lived with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, addictions and diabetes, yet manages to embrace positivity, while continuing to give so much back to others.

Linda Chamberlain, director Norman Lofts and Toronto Star columnist Catherine Porter will participate in a post-screening Q&A.
